Perception Album Review: @CaesarGorgeous
With his sound design/audio engineering background and creative lyrics singer/songwriter Caesar Gorgeous could be experimental R&B's top contender in 2019. His debut concept album Perception uncovers the emotions of youth, regret, love, and redemption in a trippy, yet clear experience that's easy on the ears and hard hitting with emotion. Tracks like "Better Off" "From Here" and "Woke Up" ft. J. Khaga reveals his ability to flow in a melodic way. From addiction to dreams, and perseverance, Perception is a true journey for the ears and mind. With the addition of autotune for some tracks, Caesar collaborates with producer J. Khaga to create a complete experience and vibe for the listener.
Influenced by Kanye West, Jay-Z, Mike Dean, and Pharrell, to name a few — his sound is still unique to his own style which he calls "cinematic black." Tracks like "Better Off" "I Want It All" "Youth" and "Father's Child" parallel and mirror Caesar's relationship with his father and also within himself. The journeying and storytelling begin with a conversation he had with his father on the track "Today" and brings us back full circle with the track "2335" "I really wanted to bring people into my world and be able to craft the experience." Issa vibe, issa experience, and you need to listen to Perception to truly witness the evolution. Did we mention he is a co-founder of @grges.radio? Witness the journey @caesar.grges
